Town of Aurora Presents Storytelling and Live Music for Indigenous History Month
June 20, 2026 (9:00 AM - 12:30 PM) (EDT)
Description
You are invited to take part in a meaningful celebration of Indigenous cultures. Join us Saturday, June 20, at Aurora Town Park for an Indigenous Peoples Celebration that welcomes the entire community.
Explore the living traditions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples. Experience the captivating teachings of Anishinaabe Grandmother Kim Wheatley, a highly regarded storyteller and educator, as she highlights the enduring art of Indigenous storytelling — a powerful tradition that preserves knowledge, history, and cultural teachings across generations. Following storytelling, enjoy a live musical performance by Dave Mowat & Trio, who’s sounds will fill the park with rhythm and spirit.
This gathering offers a wonderful chance to learn, connect, and deepen your appreciation for the diverse cultural heritage of Indigenous Peoples. Make sure you are there for this special event!
