A visit to the museum can be a calming and inspirational experience that has a positive impact on mental health. The team at the Aurora Historical Society always strives to provide engaging storytelling tours and give our visitors behind-the-scenes information about our unique heritage property. Inspired by the "Slow Movement," the AHS wants to offer a new specialized tour that encourages us all to take a breath, in a fast-paced world.
Introducing our new Slow Museum Tours -- On June 15th, from 3:00pm until closing at 5:00pm, we invite visitors to join us in exploring Hillary House National Historic Site. The tour is entirely free and open to all ages. At your own pace, wander through Hillary House. Museum guides will be available throughout the museum to provide insightful historical context and answer visitor questions at your request. You may sketch, do mindful exercises in the historic rooms, or simply sit and admire the restored spaces. We invite you to take advantage of this specialized experience.
Pre-registration is recommended. Drop-ins are welcome after 3:30pm, but not guaranteed admission if the tour is at maximum capacity. Reserve now to guarantee your spot, by contacting us or by clicking this link https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/aurora-historical-society/events/slow-museum-tours
